The Hatirjheel-Begunbari project, inaugurated on January 2, 2013, stands as a testament to urban innovation and thoughtful development. Once a serene lakefront in Dhaka, Hatirjheel has undergone a remarkable transformation into a vital transportation corridor designed to minimise traffic congestion and enhance connectivity. Seven Rings Cement played a significant role in this project by providing high-quality materials essential for its construction.
Stretching across a low-lying area between Airport Road/Sonargaon Hotel and Rampura Bridge/BTV Bhaban, the project covers an impressive 302 acres. It facilitates connectivity between eastern and western Dhaka while also providing spaces for public recreation. The Hatirjheel Project exemplifies a harmonious blend of urban development and environmental preservation, creating an oasis of tranquility within the bustling city.
The project benefits over a million residents and visitors daily by improving access, reducing travel times, and enhancing the overall quality of life in the capital.
The total cost of realizing this transformative project was shared by RAJUK (Tk. 1,113.7 million), LGED (Tk. 2,760 million), and WASA (Tk. 866.95 million), reflecting a collaborative effort for the benefit of Dhaka’s residents and visitors alike. Seven Rings Cement’s contribution of durable materials underscores the importance of quality in such large-scale urban projects.
