Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all RTD vehicles.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure the roadworthiness, safety, and statutory compliance of all vehicles.
    Supervise repair and maintenance activities to ensure quality workmanship and long-term durability.
  • Lead and monitor the daily activities of workshop technicians and support staff.
  • Ensure the timely completion of servicing and repair works in accordance with the established maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate with RTD Operations to ensure the availability of vehicles for timely dispatch.
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks based on operational urgency and delivery requirements.
  • Provide support in handling emergency breakdowns to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and spare parts consumption to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Maintain accurate service records and support audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.

Educational Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Automobile Engineering from a recognized institute or university.
  • Additional training or certification in automobile maintenance or transport management will be considered an advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5–8 years of practical experience in vehicle maintenance and workshop management.
  • Experience in handling heavy vehicles, trucks, or transport fleet operations will be preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair procedures.
  • Ability to lead and manage workshop staff effectively.
  • Good understanding of transport safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergency vehicle breakdown situations.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel, email) will be an advantage.
